St Peter’s needs your help

St Peter’s needs your help!

We all want to safeguard the future of our church community. Put simply, our annual income is falling, and our costs are rising. This year we face a deficit of £30,000.

Income is down…

Whilst St Peter’s is popular and thriving, our income is falling.  In 2021, we received £250,000, but this year we forecast that to fall below £190,000. Nearly all that money is the result of your generosity.  St Peter’s receives no money from the government or the central church.

… but costs keep going up

Half our annual income goes to cover the cost of clergy, pensions, housing, training, and other central costs. What is left we use to pay for the rest our own parish activities. Increasingly, we are unable to cover all these costs. And we really don’t want to cut staff or activities.

Here’s how you can help…

Right now, we have about 100 regular donors, who give an average of between £25 and £50 per month. If more people can sign up to regular giving, we can fix our finances.

If you currently ‘tap to donate’ each week, please consider converting that donation into a monthly direct debit. If you have already set up a direct debit, please think whether you could increase your donation.

Setting up a regular donation to St Peter’s is easy to do, by following the link to our page on the PARISH GIVING SCHEME.

Once you’re there, click the button for regular giving, and choose how much you would like to give per month. Fill in your details, set up your password and confirm your email to create your account. If you tick to confirm you are taxpayer, the system will automatically collect the Gift Aid for the church.

And thank you so much for your generosity! With your help we can secure St Peter’s for the future.
