Giving
Like every church, St Peter’s is entirely self-funded, reliant on the generosity of the congregation and local community to support our work. We are hugely grateful to you for making our work possible.
The cost of running St Peter's is about £5000 a week. This includes supporting our own ministry (including children's work and music), the help we give to our partner projects (including work with the homeless, refugees and asylum seekers, and our link diocese in Mozambique), and the maintenance of our historic building.
You can make a regular or one-off donation quickly and easily online via DIRECT DEBIT. Alternatively, you can set up a STANDING ORDER with your bank, by downloading the form, completing the details, and returning it to the Parish Office. Either method will allow us to reclaim tax on your donation if you complete the relevant Gift Aid declaration.
You can also donate tax-free to St Peter's using the government's Payroll Give As You Earn scheme, which allows you to give directly from your salary before tax is calculated. Speak to your employer to set this up. Our charity number is 1135462. Visit the Charities Aid Foundation PAYROLL: GIVE AS YOU EARN page for more information.
To find out more about how money is spent at St Peter's, read our most recent ANNUAL REPORT. The money we contribute to the Diocese (known as 'Common Fund') covers the cost of our clergy and other central services; to find out more about how this figure is spent, download the COMMON FUND booklet produced by the Diocese of London.
