Opera Integra: The Tales of Hoffman

At a performance of Don Giovanni, the patrons flock to the nearby bar to praise its star opera singer, La Stella, and are excited to see another celebrity in their midst – the infamous poet and storyteller Hoffmann. They encourage him to tell the tales of his three lost loves – automaton Olympia, delicate soprano Antonia and dishonest courtesan Giuletta.

Offenbach’s episodic opera of doomed love is presented in concert following Opera Integra’s fully-staged production directed by Lysanne van Overbeek (Grimeborn, Barefoot Opera) under the baton of Jack Wong (Verbier Festival, Hornton Chamber Orchestra).

Conscious of their mission to create opportunities for opera singers to perform complete roles, Opera Integra presents this concert to allow the covers (those fully prepared to sing in the full production if the original performer is indisposed) to showcase their hard (and indispensable) work and commitment.
