Opera Integra: Lucia di Lammermoor

On Friday 25th November 2022 (7.30 pm), we welcome Opera Integra back (following their recent offerings of Cavalleria Rusticana and The Merry Wives of Windsor) with a full-length opera in concert that was postponed in July due to covid – Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor.

Based on a Sir Walter Scott novel, it is a perfect example of the italian bel-canto opera style. Most famously, it includes a ‘mad scene’, where Lucia sings an ethereal aria in her blood-stained wedding dress having stabbed her unwanted husband to death. An opportunity to hear this opera under the baton of Peter Crockford, a specialist in the bel-canto style.
