SUMMARY:Holy Communion in church
DESCRIPTION:All are welcome to a celebration of Holy Communion. \nBecause of Covid\, communion will be offered in one kind (that is\, wafer only). Those who attend will need to use the hand sanitiser provided and to wear masks\, and pews will be cleaned between services. \nPlease be aware that there are no crèche facilities or Sunday Clubs for children at this service; and children who attend will therefore need to be able to sit with parents throughout\, and avoid breaching social distancing guidelines. Children’s colouring packs are available at the back of the church: do ask a steward as you come in if you would like one. Children are also welcome to attend our fortnightly Family Service\, which includes activities particularly for them. \nAnyone with potential COVID-19 symptoms (a new continuous cough\, a high temperature\, or loss of or change to sense of smell or taste) should self-isolate at home. Those who are shielding or vulnerable\, whether on the basis of age or underlying conditions\, will need to think carefully about whether they feel safe to attend. \nFor those who can’t attend in person\, SUNDAY WORSHIP is available online via St Peter’s YouTube channel.

But this year\, of course\, we will be doing things a bit differently. \nUnder Tier 4 restrictions\, public worship is still permitted. But as you will appreciate\, Covid restrictions also mean that the safe seating capacity of St Peter’s is significantly reduced\, and we may not able to accommodate all those who want to attend. With regret\, we have had to introduce a booking system for Christmas Services this year. \nWe sorry to say that we are NO LONGER ACCEPTING BOOKINGS for the Carol Service or for Christmas Day worship. Spaces may still available at MIDNIGHT MASS\, which you can book by clicking the link\, and completing the online form. (Please note that those who are acting as stewards\, reading\, or singing in the choir do not need to book seating in advance.) If you have booked seats at any of our Christmas services which you have decided you will not be using\, do please email the office to let us know so that we can offer these seats to others. \nAs a result of the recent move to Tier 4\, we have also decided we need to change what we are able to offer during the afternoon on Christmas Eve. Instead of our usual crib service\, we had hoped to sing carols together outside in the church garden\, and offer a craft activity for children. Under  Tier 4\, public worship is still permitted\, but those who wish to attend worship at St Peter’s will need to book seats in advance. \nAs a result of the recent move to Tier 4 restrictions\, we have also decided we need to change what we are able to offer on Christmas Eve.  We had hoped to sing carols together outside in the church garden\, and also to offer a craft activity for children. Unfortunately\, we don’t think we can do this safely within the government guidelines. \nWe will\, however\, still be opening St Peter’s Church for three hours in the afternoon\, from 2 pm to 5 pm on Christmas Eve\, for individuals or household groups who want to come inside to see the crib\, say a prayer\, and listen to some quiet Christmas music. Do drop in by yourself or with the family for twenty minutes whenever it suits you.
