DESCRIPTION:Heike and Alistair would like to thank everyone for the wonderful send off from St Peter’s\, for the many cards\, emails and well wishes\, the theological books (definitely not quick reads!) and the incredibly generous gift. And they are holding everyone to their promise to visit – with or without coach party. \nHeike’s induction into her new benefice was held in St Peter’s ad Vincula Church\, Coggeshall on Monday 10th May at 7.30pm. Because of Covid restrictions\, attendance was limited\, but the service was recorded  and can be seen on her new church’s YOUTUBE channel. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Join Charles for another lunchtime book discussion group on Zoom\, where we will be reading More Pefect Union: Understanding Same-Sex Marriage\, by Dr Alan Wilson\, Bishop of Buckingham. \nWe’re meeting for three weeks on consecutive Wednesdays\, beginning on Wednesday 20th May\, at 12pm. We’ll be tackling three chapters a week; so looking at chs.1-3 on May 20th; chs 4-6 on May 27th; and on 7-9 for June 3rd. DESCRIPTION:Glass Door invites the community to join us at a church service celebrating twenty years of shelter and support in the community. Saint Luke’s Church in Chelsea (Sydney Street\, London\, SW3 6NH) will be hosting an evensong service and celebration on Homeless Sunday – 13 October 2019 at 3pm\, followed by a reception with tea and cakes. \nAll are welcome. There is no need to RSVP. Please do come along and bring your friends and family. \nHomeless Sunday (October 13th) has been part of the Christian calendar for more than a quarter of a century. It is an opportunity for churches of all denominations and people of all faiths to unite and show solidarity with those experiencing homelessness and to reflect and plan practical action on homelessness. \nThere were just seven night shelters operating across the Glass Door (then WLCHC) network in 1999. Today there are 29 and soon to be more across the boroughs of Kensington and Chelsea\, Hammersmith and Fulham\, Wandsworth and Richmond-Upon-Thames. \nThe service will be in recognition of the importance of community in supporting men and women find a way beyond homelessness.

DESCRIPTION:Many thanks to all who joined the inaugural St Peters’ pickers litter picking before Easter. Much long-ingrained litter was recovered\, ranging from small pieces of plastic to a bicycle tyre. A stolen ipad was recovered and returned to its grateful owner. \nMick\, from the Cross Keys\, is organising the second ‘litter pick’. Meet at the pub at 11am on Saturday 11 May. \nRecycling bags and general rubbish bags\, gloves\, tabards\, pick sticks and hand sanitiser will be provided. Each group will do about an hour and return to the Cross Keys\, where a free tea or coffee awaits\, along with kids drinks. \nVisit the SPRA website for more details.

DESCRIPTION:It was with intense sadness and shock that we received news in February of the tragic and unexpected death of our hugely talented and much loved director of music\, David Coram. David has been such a central figure to our life as a church community in his time here\, and St Peter’s was hugely important to him. We hold him\, all those who loved him\, and especially his two young children\, in our thoughts and prayers. \nFamily\, friends and colleagues from London and further afield are warmly invited to a memorial service for David\, at 2pm on Saturday 4th May\, here at St Peter’s. In the meantime\, a Book of Condolence is available in the church for those who want to write words of tribute.
